Wanders Launches Mondrian South Beach Project

More Miami, more Marcel Wanders: the Morgans Hotel Group sent us images of Wanders' interior design for the Mondrian South Beach Hotel on Biscayne Bay in South Beach, Miami.

Wanders' concept is a "Sleeping Beauty Castle," with 342 designer-furnished studios and loft-style apartments towering above a fantasy garden.

Wanders will expand the already curved building to create a semicircular structure with rooms that resemble theater boxes overlooking the gardens and pool below.

The Mondrian South Beach opened in December 2007 as an extension of Morgans Hotel Group's Mondrian brand in Los Angeles.

The hotel launched during Art Basel Miami Beach and the Miami Design Show earlier this month, where Wanders' Happy Hour Chandelier (see below) was also featured.

Morgans Hotel Group owns and operates the Morgans, Royalton and Hudson hotels in New York; the Delano and The Shore Club in Miami; and the Sanderson and St. Regis hotels in London.
