Emirates Airline Complex Wins Snohetta Show

More architectural wonders from the Gulf: Norwegian architects Snøhetta have released images of the winning design for their new "Gateway" architectural competition in Ras Al Khaimah, the new capital of the United Arab Emirates.

The 300,000-square-meter complex includes hotels, a convention center, exhibition halls and a shopping mall.

In the center is a cobra-like tower.

Plans were unveiled last week for a major cultural complex in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), designed by Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel, Frank Gehry and Tadao Ando.
